This past weekend we went to the Lake to see JoJo and Bebe. Great grandmommy Pauline, Great Aunt Jane, cousin Samantha and Dave were all there too! We had such a grood time visiting with everyone. Grandmommy Pauline also made Baileigh a quilt - she does this for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The quilt was beautiful and I know Baileigh will treasure it forever, knowing it was made with such love!
Baileigh had a slight cough and was a bit hoarse over the weekend, but she was in a great mood with no fever so we thought nothing of it. On Sunday, Nana came over so I could get a little work done and Baileigh played. Sunday was also mine and Chip's 6th anniversary! Although we had already decided to postpone our celebration until the coming weekend, Chip went to Fresh Market and bought Chilean Sea Bass to cook so we would have a yummy dinner. The dinner was fabulous...however, Baileigh was not. At about 5:30 pm on Sunday, she woke from a nap and when I picked her up I immediately knew something was wrong. She was burning up and was like a limp rag doll. She had a fever of 104.8. We dosed her with motrin and stuck her in a cool bath. On top of this our airconditioner froze up so the house was 80 degrees! The doctor advised us that the Children's Hospital after hours clinic was already on a 3 hour wait and the best thing we could do was to keep her cool (with our non-working AC) and dosed with fever reducers until the next morning, so long as her fever didn't go over 105. At about 2:30 am the fever came down and all Baileigh wanted to do was play. And play, she did for the next 4 hours. We went to see Dr. Joe and it turns out she has croup. She had to get a shot and they gave us a prescription for steroids to knock it out. She seems to be getting better though.
Although there are times, where we want to scream "can anything else go wrong" (which at this point we know it can) we are so fortunate to have each other, a beautiful daughter, and loving friends and family. It is sometimes difficult not to get caught up in the day-to-day things keep us so busy, so from time to time we have to remember to stop and enjoy life...the chores and "to do" lists will still be there when we are done and in the grand scheme of things aren't the things that are important. God is so good to us and always leads us where we need to go and gives us exactly what we need to make things work. Chip and I have learned to pray that God will give us what we need to fulfill his work because sometimes the things we "want" aren't really the things we "need"!

You are so right --it isn't about what we want. Glad she is feeling better. Happy Anniversary!
I saw your comment about Samford and Son and yeah that's just about what we felt like. I was about ready to dump that truck and go ahead without all that crap. We are living in Old Cahaba in Helena.
