Okay...so I am a little behind on posting - hopefully I will catch up this weekend.
We did go for Baileigh's one year checkup last week (eventhough we were a couple of weeks late). She was 20 lbs. 14 oz., and was 29 3/4 inches long (that puts her into the 40%-ile for weight, and the 75%-ile for height). She HATED being at the doctor's office. Well, she was good until he wanted to look into her ears and she had to lay down - girl hates laying down and being still.
Dr. Joe said that the fluid had actually disappeared from her ears, which we were thankful for. We were actually about to have tubes put in b/c we had been advised that in about 90% of kids who keep fluid on their ears, tubes are necessary. But I guess she was in the lucky 10% who have it clear up on their own!
He also advised us that the reflux is still there (which is why she continues to "spit up" some) but he thinks that is because the flap (there is some technical term for it, but I can't remember it) still hasn't fully matured and doesn't close fully. He says he thinks that as she continues to grow it will mature on its own. And, since the "spitting up" bothers us more than her he said we could continue to go without the medicine.
So, she was given a clean bill of health and we were told we could move off formula. Baileigh isn't crazy about milk, so we have to put either a teaspoon of chocolate or some vanilla extract in it to get her to drink it. But she LOVES table food.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, she is walking (everywhere) these days and talks constantly. Most of what she says is just jibberish - but man, she talks all the time! Some words she can say now are: Ma-Ma, Da-Dee, Du-tin (for Justin), Poppa, Ni-Ni (for no-no), Do (prounced like the word dough) - which is what she says to Smokey all the time (we think it is a combination of "down" and "no"). She also says be-be (she uses that one when refering to both "BeBe"(Chip's dad) and "baby"). She will blow kisses and will put her finger up to her mouth and say "shhh" if you do it first.
Baileigh is such a good sweet baby and has such a sweet and funny disposition. She also gets into her share of mischief...one of her favorite things to do is grab the remote when you aren't looking and turn the tv on. Cabinets are also a big favorite of hers - we are working on getting cabinet locks installed! And that little "angel" can throw a devil of a fit when she wants to. These mainly happen when she is very tired.
Hopefully, I will have some time to post some new pics this weekend.

Sounds like she is talking up a storm! Glad to hear that everything looked good on her one year checkup. Yes, and we do need to see some updated pics of her :)
Glad the check-up was good. About the milk thing, I don't like milk either unless there is chocolate syrup in it. Matt on the other hand can drink it straight from the jug.
